Van Campen Liem advised Tyromer Europe B.V. and its existing shareholders with the investment round of Tyromer Europe B.V.

The investors include Oost NL as fund manager of MKB Kredietfaciliteit Gelderland (which is part of Topfonds Gelderland), as well as a group of Dutch co-investors.

The Canadian company Tyromer has commercialized its rubber devulcanization technology developed at the University of Waterloo. This breakthrough patented chemical-free manufacturing process converts scrap rubber into a polymer (TDP) to be reused in tire manufacturing at high percentages. As a circular material, TDP offers tangible cost savings to the tire industry without compromising quality or safety. Apart from the environmentally friendly aspect, this method also saves 94% energy compared to making ‘virgin’ rubber. As inventor of the process Tyromer now sells licenses to compounders (companies that mix and sell materials).

The investment is used in order to support Tyromers’ European branch in Arnhem and the opening of the factory at Industriepark Kleefse Waard, where compounders can see how they can apply the recycling method themselves.

The Van Campen Liem team consisted of Edwin Liem, Martina Priekaar and Anna Zhu.
