Van Campen Liem acted for Rabbit in what marks as the largest pre-seed funding round in Africa and the Middle-East

Van Campen Liem acted for Rabbit in what marks as the largest pre-seed funding round in Africa and the Middle-East.

The USD 11mio financing round was led by Global Founders Capital (Rocket Internet) with participation from Foundation Ventures, Goodwater Capital, RAED Ventures and MSA Capital.

Rabbit, an on-demand grocery delivery company with the promise of delivering groceries within 20 minutes of its micro-fulfilment centers, has been in stealth mode since June and only launched last month.

Many congrats to Ahmad Yousry and the rest of the Rabbits on this very important milestone!

The VCL team consisted of Saman Sadeghi and Gülsüm Aslan.

Van Campen Liem advised the Pythagoras Music Fund in connection with its first acquisition

Van Campen Liem had the pleasure to advise the Pythagoras Music Fund on the purchase and transfer of all shares in the capital of Nanada Music B.V. (music copyrights) and Red Bullet B.V. (master recordings) from its owner and founder Willem van Kooten, a pioneer and an icon of the Dutch music industry.

The music industry is going through a phase of strong growth, and streaming shifted the music industry towards a recurring revenue business.

The catalogue contains approximately 30,000 copyrights and 6,500 master recordings, with many important (Dutch) artists such as Andre Hazes senior & junior, Het Goede Doel, BZN, Earth & Fire and Sandy Coast, as well as the master and publishing rights to Shocking Blue’s Venus, which reached the no 1 position in the Billboard singles chart by three different artists. Golden Earring’s Radar Love is another iconic recording that achieved tremendous international success.

Press coverage on the acquisition is available through the following URL: https://fd.nl/bedrijfsleven/1413420/private-equityfonds-pythagoras-koopt-muziekrechten-willem-van-kooten.

The Van Campen Liem team consisted of Martijn Stuart, Jos Kroep and Martina Priekaar. Emile Bongers advised on tax aspects of the deal.
